


In a strange turn of events, Amemiya ends up dying and being reborn as Hoshino's newborn son, Aquamarine Hoshino. Amemiya's life changes forever when the 16-year-old celebrity arrives pregnant at his clinic and on the verge of giving birth. The story of Oshi no Ko begins with a rural gynecologist named Gorou Amemiya, a huge fan of the beloved pop idol Ai Hoshino. The show's first episode also currently holds a viewer ranking of 9.30 on MyAnimeList, beating out both Demon Slayer and Hell's Paradise. Prior to the debut of Doga Kobo's Oshi no Ko anime, the series was ranked as the #1 Most Anticipated anime of the Spring 2023 season, beating Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc by a significant margin.

By October 2022, that number had increased to 3 million. In April 2021, roughly one year after its debut, the manga already had over 1 million copies in circulation worldwide. Akasaka's Oshi no Ko manga launched in Weekly Young Jump in April 2020, and went on to become a big hit with readers.
